Kayser Commentary Distinctives

We believe in the sufficiency of the Word of God to instruct mankind on all matters of faith and practice, and we believe that it is the only axiom, or “first principle”, upon which sound philosophy can be constructed. All disciplines of knowledge—economics, politics, medicine, mathematics, aesthetics, science, philosophy—rely on the Scripture for their foundational axioms. The Scripture is the pre-condition of intelligibility.

We believe in the redemptive transformation of all things in history by the rule of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit in His people as they carry out the Dominion Mandate and the Great Commission.

We believe that the law of God as revealed to Moses on Mt. Sinai to be the continuing guide and standard for all families, churches, and civil governments, unless specifically replaced by the work of Christ on earth...until the accomplishment of all things. Indeed, the good news of the Gospel makes no sense apart from the law. It is the law that makes us realize our need of the Gospel and it is the Gospel that helps us to come to love and apply the law to all of life.

We believe in the three basic spheres of government—family, church, and state. The Bible gives us all the guidance needed to bring reformation to family, church, and state, and this website is seeking to bring together in an easily understandable way the principles for such reformation.

Dr. Kayser is a conference speaker and he has also applied Scripture to politics at three presidential candidate campaigns. He has been an occasional guest teacher and consultant at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, lecturing on the impact of various religions on culture, the Protestant Reformation’s impact on culture, the history of American economics, the philosophical underpinnings of American institutions, and recognizing cults. He and his wife Kathy have a growing family of 5 children and 10 grandchildren who love and serve the Lord.

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe the Bible as contained in the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, the only rule of faith and obedience.
  2. There is one and only one God. This God has revealed Himself to us in the Scriptures as a personal being existing eternally in three persons (the divine Trinity): God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, begotten of the Father before all worlds, very God of very God, willingly humbled Himself in love for mankind, was born of a virgin, fully human. He led a sinless life, died a substitutionary, atoning death on the cross. Three days later he rose bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven and now intercedes for His brethren on the right hand of His Father. He will one day return bodily to the earth to rule His Kingdom.
  4. We believe a person is saved, or justified, by an act of God’s free grace and not on any merit of his own. God pardons his sins and accepts him as righteous in His sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us (through Christ’s substitutionary atoning death and bodily resurrection) and received sola fide, by faith alone.
  5. Those who are justified will live eternally in the presence of God and all the redeemed, and those who are not justified will suffer eternal damnation in hell.

We hold to the historic creeds of the Church and believe that both the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed accurately summarize Biblical teaching on the nature of God and man and His plan for human salvation. We also hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith and the CPC’s doctrines and distinctives.
